Biography of Steven Brian Kendrick
Steven Brian Kendrick was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia and was educated in
the Richmond County Public School System. He later attended Florida A&M University
(FAMU), where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He continued
his education at FAMU by completing his Masters degree in Business Administration.
He has served as a part time professor of Business for Augusta State University
and the University of Phoenix, as a salesman in the pharmaceutical industry and
as Vice President of Augusta Blueprint.
Commissioner Kendrick’s community involvement includes Chairman of the Downtown
Development Authority, Chairman of Leadership Augusta, Chairman of Youth Leadership
Richmond County, Co-Chairman of Destination 2020, Treasurer for the Greater Augusta
Arts Council, Board Member of The Lucy Craft Laney Museum, Board Member of the Boy’s
and Girls Club of Augusta, a member of the executive committee for the Salvation
Army of Augusta, former Chairman of the ARC Minority Business Development Council,
former Richmond County Technical High School Advisory Board member, former Paine
College Division of Business Administration’s Advisory Board member and former Jenkins
White Charter School Council member.
Commissioner Kendrick is a 2006 graduate of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development,
a 2003 graduate of Leadership Augusta, a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
and he served as a statewide host for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Red Carpet
Tour. His spiritual foundation was built at Williams Memorial Christian Methodist
Episcopal Church and he currently attends Beulah Grove Baptist church for worship.
He owes any successes he has had in his life to wise and caring parents and a supportive
community. He has twin 14 year old daughters Alexandria and Leigha.
